SubLevel2 & Milk The Cow presents: The WAREHOUSE PARTY

Most of you will already be aware that at Dynamix Skate Park in Gateshead tonight, SubLevel2 & Milk The Cow presents: The WAREHOUSE PARTY.

If my presence alone isn’t enough to get you itching to go, then there must be something wrong with you.  Besides that though, there will be live performances from my favourite local Hip Hop circus freaks Baron Von Alias, MistaBreeze & the awesome Eliza LawsonRex Regis, Rick Fury and DJ ADS will also be there hammering the final nails into American Hip Hop’s coffin and disrespectfully kicking it into its murky three-foot trench as North East Hip Hop continues to rise!

Justin J-Man will entertain what is looking to be a healthy sized crowd with his witty MCing and you’ll even get some live Beat-Boxing from that man Brotha Priah.

As if that’s not enough to warrant dipping your greasy mitts into your deep pockets to fish out some of your hard earned pesta, then there’s also gonna be plenty of DJ sets from Smurf, Fridgeman, Pegz, John Rowe, Joonipah & Hedgewald ft. Zico MC, Armaged:Don, L87, S9T and Funsize Johnny.

I know what you’re thinking, that’s a fukkin hell of a lot of DJs!  So it’s just as well that this epic shindig is gonna be running from 7.30pm until 3am then, isn’t it?

Expect DubStep, Drum n Bass, Hip Hop, Techno, Breaks, Rave, Old Skool and Electro, blasted through the mighty 12KW Defcon1 Soundsystem, in what is shaping up to be a fukkin quality night!

Check out the event on Facebook – http://www.facebook.com/events/306998582701432/

If you’re lucky, you might still be able to get tickets at the pre-event price of £5 (that includes the booking fee, I think) by buying them online at – http://www.wegottickets.com/event/162802 otherwise it’s a case of paying on the door, which will cost more.  I’ve heard that that could be a tenner.  So get the tickets now on the cheap, while you still can.

Mallaz presents…

Also, on Saturday 7th July, at Newcastle’s Cluny2

Baron Von Alias, MistaBreeze & Eliza Lawson will be playing a headline slot at a gig run by me.  That will be officially announced later but tickets are available for a mere £5.

You will be able to buy tickets for the Baron, Breeze & Eliza (plus support) gig tonight at The Warehouse Party.  Speak to either me, Chris Cairns (Baron, Breeze & Eliza’s new manager), Baron Von Alias, MistaBreeze or Eliza Lawson.  There will be three support acts playing at that gig too.  Currently confirmed as support are Ginger Snap & The Style Pile and tickets are also available direct from them.

Stand by for further announcements….

This week’s shit betting tip

I’ve been running well behind schedule this week and obviously I’ve missed the 3pm kick offs.  I don’t even remember the outcome of my tip last week, but it probably lost!  I’ll update my progress when I have more time to spare.

So my £10 football betting tip this week is gonna be a lazy double for today’s late kick off and a game tomorrow.

Get on…

Liverpool to win at Norwich (5/6)

Tottenham to beat Blackburn (4/9)

£10 with Paddy Power online pays £26.48.

GIGS GOING ON IN APRIL

Here’s a guide to what’s going on in music in April.

THE EGG

I’m obviously gonna start off with my gig, The Egg at The Telegraph on Orchard Street in Newcastle upon Tyne.  The Egg is held in The Telegraph’s function room upstairs on Saturday 7th April and entry is charged at £4 on the door.  The Egg is night of live music featuring incredibly talented artists from a wide range of genres.  The doors open at 7.30pm and the event will be running from 8pm until 2am on Easter Sunday.

The main highlights of the evening with be live Hip Hop from Baron Von Alias & MistaBreeze, featuring Eliza Lawson, who earlier this week released their ‘Brace For The Impact’ EP.  Download that now, while it’s free, because on Monday it get’s released on to iTunes and the likes and you’ll have to pay for it.  There’s also some Funky Ska in the form of Ginger Snap & The Style Pile, who performed a truly epic set at my last gig at The Telegraph earlier this month.  I’ve also got something totally fresh and individual for you in the form of Brotha Priah.  What Priah does is live Beat-Boxing through a looping station to create songs on the spot while he talks shite over the top.  That’s something you don’t see every day and the lad does it with incredible skill.

If those three acts aren’t enough to tempt you, I’ve also got Alternative act Artisam playing as a five-piece with their new drummer and fiddler.  There’s some Electronic Krautedelic Pop from Parastatic, a DJ set from Greenline DJ and Baiqian Jiang will be showing off his Fingerstyle on his acoustic guitar.

SUBLEVEL 2

SubLevel2 and the 12KW Defcon1 Soundsystem have got a couple things going on in April too.

If you find yourself north of the border, then on Saturday 21st April you may wanna go check out Defcon1 Soundsystem + SubLevel2 UK at Hawick & Wilton Cricket Club, for a night of DubStep, Breaks and Drum n Bass complete with smoke, lasers and a visual show.

The Hawick event will feature DJ sets from regular SubLevel2 DJs; Pegz, S9T, L87 and Blackleaf and for only £4 it’s a bargain.  Check out the Facebook event on this next link.

If that one’s too far off your beaten track, you need not worry because on Saturday 28th April SubLevel2 and Milk the Cow present The Warehouse Party at Dynamix Skate Park in Gateshead.

The Warehouse Party has a massive line-up.  The live acts include Baron Von Alias & MistaBreeze, Rick Fury and Brotha Priah amongst others and the DJs include the SubLevel2 crew and many more.  This one is not to be missed.  Pre-event tickets can be bought at Beatdown Records or online on the following link, for only £5.

That’s shaping up to be an epic night and I’ll be on that like a fat lass on a buffet!

HONEY CHROME

Possibly the most original live band in the region (I’m just saying, you’ve not heard shit like this before!) are Honey Chrome.  This two and a half man band don’t just sound different from everybody else, even their own tracks sound different to one another.  I’ve got Honey Chrome booked for a couple of gigs in May but they also have a couple in April too.

On Friday 6th April, the day before The Egg, they are playing with The Skank Sinatra & Friends Show and The Kites, at The Sun Inn in Stockton on Tees.  You can find further details on the Facebook event for that gig on the link below.

Then on Wednesday 25th April, Honey Chrome are competing in the Semi Final of a Battle of the Bands competition at Trillians Rock Bar in Newcastle.  I don’t have the details for that so keep up to date with things on Honey Chrome’s website on the link below.

SIX NEW APPRENTICES MAN, WHAT FUKKIN JOBS CRISIS???

Posted in General Gobshiting, Opinions On The News with tags , , , , , , , , , , on November 30, 2011 by Mallaz

I found yesterday’s Evening Chronicle pretty fukkin amusing.

The front page headline read;

“THE CUTS HIT HARD AGAIN”

They also had a two page spread, on pages 4 and 5, about jobs being lost as more cuts are being made.

“1,100 jobs to go as axe falls again”

Adrian Pearson explains how more than eleven-hundred jobs will be lost on Tyneside after the next dose of government spending cuts.  450 jobs are going to be lost in Gateshead council over the next two years.  Newcastle will lose 360 and North Tyneside, 300.  Services will be cut, charges increased and some libraries will be closed down.

It all sounds pretty fukkin dire, doesn’t it?

Fear not though.

It’s not all doom and gloom!!!

In the same fukkin paper, on page 19, there is another article….

“Hope in jobs gloom”

That’s right people, there’s still hope yet.  Or so you’d fukkin think reading the title.  Kier, one of North Tyneside’s biggest building firms, has taken on six (YES, THAT’S RIGHT, SIX!!!!) new apprentices!

So all is not lost!!

Now my maths isn’t what it used to be, but if it’s still the same as when I was in school, it looks like this;  1,100 jobs lost – 6 jobs gained = a loss of 1,094 jobs.

Now that doesn’t really fukkin fill me with confidence!  And these are fukkin apprenticeships.  They give them to school-leavers.  I’m twenty-seven now, I’m not gonna get a fukkin apprenticeship!  Better hope I get somewhere with this art or music shite or I’m already on the scrapheap before I’m thirty.
